Huawei Rolls Out December 2025 Security Patch for EMUI and HarmonyOS

Huawei has released its December 2025 security patch for eligible EMUI and HarmonyOS smartphones and tablets. This critical update arrives just before the company’s global debut of the Mate X7 foldable in Dubai on December 11.

Security patches are essential because they protect your device from hidden threats. They not only fix bugs but also close privacy loopholes that could lead to data leaks, battery drain, or overheating. Without timely updates, devices remain vulnerable to malware and system instability.

The new Huawei December 2025 security patch addresses a total of 16 Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVEs). Specifically, it includes 5 high-severity and 11 medium-severity fixes. In addition, it resolves 7 third-party library defects—5 rated high and 2 medium.

These patches target vulnerabilities across key system components. Affected areas include the camera, file management app, network module, security checker, audio system, and media library. By closing these gaps, Huawei strengthens device integrity against real-world exploits.

The update supports a wide range of devices. High-severity fixes apply to HarmonyOS 6.0 down to EMUI 12. Notably, medium-severity patches cover even older versions—some as far back as HarmonyOS 2.0 and EMUI 12.

Huawei strongly recommends installing the December 2025 security patch as soon as it arrives on your device. To check manually, go to Settings > System & Updates > Software Update. If available, download and install it immediately for optimal protection.

This rollout also sets the stage for Huawei’s upcoming Dubai showcase. On December 11, the company will unveil the Mate X7, FreeClip 2, and other innovations—all running on secure, up-to-date HarmonyOS software.

In summary, the Huawei December 2025 security patch is more than routine maintenance. It’s a vital defense against evolving cyber threats—and a reminder that security remains central to Huawei’s ecosystem.
