AITO M9 2026 has surfaced on public roads without camouflage, offering a clear look at Huawei’s next-generation smart SUV ahead of its official debut. The latest sighting reveals notable design tweaks, advanced technology, and refined performance options that position the model as a strong contender in the premium electric vehicle segment.

The updated SUV shows visible changes in its exterior design. Most notably, the door handles appear redesigned and may support gesture-based opening. This feature could allow users to unlock or open doors without physical contact. As a result, the vehicle moves closer to a fully touchless interaction experience.

At the same time, the side and rear sections present a sharper, more angular profile. These adjustments give the AITO M9 2026 a more modern and assertive stance. Therefore, the design now aligns more closely with current trends in high-end electric SUVs.

According to filings from China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the new model also grows slightly in size. The SUV measures 5,285 mm in length, 2,026 mm in width, and 1,845 mm in height. In addition, it features a wheelbase of 3,125 mm. These dimensions make it slightly larger than the outgoing version. Consequently, passengers may benefit from increased interior space and comfort.

Under the hood, the AITO M9 2026 will offer two powertrain options. First, the extended-range version combines a 1.5T engine with dual electric motors. The engine produces 118 kW, while the motors deliver 220 kW and 277 kW respectively. Together, this setup provides strong performance while maintaining range flexibility.

Meanwhile, the battery electric version retains a dual-motor configuration. This setup ensures consistent power delivery and efficient performance. Therefore, buyers can choose between full electric driving or a hybrid-like extended range system depending on their needs.

In addition to performance upgrades, technology remains a key highlight. Huawei has confirmed that the AITO M9 2026 will feature its next-generation dual-optical-path LiDAR system. This advanced system aims to deliver image-grade sensing capabilities.

LiDAR technology plays a crucial role in modern driver assistance systems. It allows vehicles to detect surroundings with high precision. As a result, the new system could enhance safety, navigation, and autonomous driving features.

Huawei plans to introduce this LiDAR system not only in the M9 but also in the S800 model. Therefore, the company continues to expand its influence in the smart mobility sector. This move reflects a broader strategy to integrate advanced hardware and software into vehicles.

The AITO M9 2026 also highlights the growing convergence between technology firms and the automotive industry. Companies like Huawei are no longer limited to smartphones and networks. Instead, they are becoming key players in the future of transportation.

At the same time, competition in the electric SUV market continues to intensify. Automakers are investing heavily in design, performance, and smart features. Therefore, models like the AITO M9 must deliver both innovation and reliability to stand out.

Importantly, the combination of gesture-based controls and LiDAR technology signals a shift toward smarter user interaction. Drivers may soon rely less on physical controls and more on intuitive systems. Consequently, the driving experience could become more seamless and connected.

Although Huawei has not yet announced a full launch date, the public road appearance suggests that the release is approaching. As more details emerge, expectations around the AITO M9 2026 will likely grow.

Ultimately, the model represents a step forward in smart SUV design. With refined styling, flexible powertrains, and advanced sensing technology, it aims to deliver a balanced mix of performance and innovation.
