Both sensors are still in testing. If all goes well, they will launch with the Pura 90 lineup in 2026. This plan contradicts earlier rumors that Huawei might drop dual zoom. Instead, the company seems more committed than ever.
Huawei first introduced dual-periscope zoom with the Pura 80 Ultra. That phone used two telephoto lenses on one plate. One was a 50MP ultra-large telephoto. The other was a 12.5MP super telephoto.
Later, the Mate 80 Pro Max and RS Ultimate upgraded to two 50MP sensors. One handled macro shots. The other focused on super telephoto. Together, they delivered 12.4x optical zoom quality.
Now, the Pura 90 series may raise the bar again. A 200MP zoom lens would capture extreme detail. It would also improve low-light shots and digital zoom. Paired with a 50MP macro sensor, it offers full versatility.
The leaker did not share sensor size or software details. Still, adding a 200MP zoom module shows Huawei’s ambition. The brand aims to lead in computational photography once more.
