Huawei HarmonyOS 6.0 Control Center Upgrades Leak

The HarmonyOS 6.0 Control Center has been spotted in a leaked video, hinting at major design and customization improvements. Following the rollout of HarmonyOS 5.1, Huawei is preparing the next big version of its operating system, and early glimpses suggest a significant visual and functional upgrade to the Control Center interface.

A user on the Chinese platform Bilibili posted a clip showcasing the HarmonyOS 6.0 Control Center in action. Though the overall layout retains some familiarity, the additions stand out—especially the redesigned sliders and customization options that aim to give users more control over how they use their device’s settings.

New Sliders and Layout Tweaks

The most noticeable change is the new vertical pill-shaped sliders for both volume and brightness control. These thicker, more prominent sliders replace the previous horizontal design seen in HarmonyOS 5.x. Not only do they improve usability with a better visual profile, but they also offer manual toggle options, letting users add or remove them entirely from the interface.

This update emphasizes personalization. Users can now freely adjust what appears in the Control Center, including tiles like Super Device, Data Traffic, and others. Whether for productivity or minimalism, users have more flexibility to structure the layout according to their routine.

Smoother Swipe Gestures and Visual Fluidity

Another improvement highlighted in the leak is the enhanced gesture animation. The swipe-down action used to open the Control Center appears smoother and more fluid compared to earlier HarmonyOS versions. Huawei has worked to make the UI transitions look more elegant, reducing lag and making navigation feel seamless.

While the leaked video does not expose any entirely new features outside of the Control Center, the level of refinement shown indicates Huawei’s growing focus on user experience. The pill-shaped toggles, editable tiles, and fluid gestures all contribute to a cleaner and more responsive system.

These enhancements in the HarmonyOS 6.0 Control Center suggest that Huawei wants to evolve its software beyond minor updates. It’s building an ecosystem where users can enjoy a polished, intuitive interface with more autonomy over how they access controls. This direction shows promise for Huawei’s ambitions to lead with innovation in its proprietary operating system.
