Huawei and Chery Launch Next-Gen Luxeed EVs to Woo Young Drivers in China
Huawei Technologies and automotive partner Chery have unveiled the latest models in their Luxeed electric vehicle (EV) lineup, aiming squarely at young, tech-savvy consumers. The new releases were showcased at a star-studded event in Shanghai on Friday, featuring Luxeed brand ambassador and actress Liu Yifei.
Huawei executive Yu Chengdong described the Luxeed series as the ultimate choice for younger generations and modern families navigating the intelligent mobility era. “We’re delivering vehicles that are stylish, smart, safe, and a joy to drive,” he said.
So far, the Luxeed brand has garnered more than 130,000 cumulative orders, highlighting strong market interest in the joint venture’s blend of design and technology.
Chery Chairman Yin Tongyue emphasized the deep cooperation between the two brands, stating that Luxeed represents a shared mission to dominate the smart EV space. “We’ve dedicated top-tier R&D talent and engineering power to ensure Luxeed’s success,” Yin said.
Luxeed previously introduced three standout models—the S7, R7, and S9—all built for the high-end EV market. Each model boasts cutting-edge connectivity and autonomous driving capabilities, powered by Huawei’s HarmonyOS ecosystem.
Industry analysts see this collaboration as a major force in China’s increasingly competitive EV sector. The fusion of Huawei’s tech innovation and Chery’s production capabilities makes Luxeed a formidable player in the premium electric car arena.
As China’s EV market accelerates, Luxeed is positioning itself as the go-to brand for young professionals and first-time buyers seeking both elegance and intelligent driving experiences.
