Huawei AI Glasses have finally debuted on the launch stage, packed with many interesting features. This device is the first HarmonyOS eye wearable that has a special AI-powered flash camera, a built-in translation capability, and much more than the previous version. Just like any other glasses, Huawei has used a subtle design for its new-gen AI-powered glasses. The device debuted in three variants: titanium wire semi-rim optical eye wearable, classic full-rim sunglasses, and classic full-rim optical lens.

The CEO of Huawei Consumer Business, He Gang, came on the stage today wearing the same Huawei AI Glasses. The product is available in three shades: Silver Gray, Shimmery Silver, and Modern Black with both round and square frames. Unlike ordinary spectacles, Huawei AI glasses use new lightweight parts and precision stacking technology. This engineering makes the temples 6.25mm thin and drops the weight of frames to 35.5 grams. Ensuring a balanced structure, Huawei has used a golden triangle hinge made of titanium alloy with constant force. This design improves the AI glasses by 21% over other models.

Huawei AI Glasses Features and Performance

Huawei has used a self-made chip for its Huawei AI Glasses, which accelerated the processing response time and instant answering traits. The new eye wearable supports voice wake-up and one-tap AI shortcut features for Celia and payment functions. Notably, the company has integrated a 1/2.8-inch sensor in the AI glasses with an AI-powered RAW domain multi-frame fusion algorithm. Therefore, the device supports composition, smart correction, and first-person perspective image and video live streaming.

Other features that the new eye wearable supports through its dedicated app include quick pairing, smart broadcasting, automatic import, and smartwatch connectivity. The Huawei AI Glasses debuted with 12 hours of battery life under constant use. Users can expect 8 hours of voice calls and around 9 hours of constant music playback. These battery figures position the glasses as a full-day wearable for most users.

Price and Availability

The all-new Huawei AI Glasses have stepped into the pre-sale phase. The official sale will begin on April 25 at 10:08 local time. For pricing, the Gray and Black versions are available for 2,499 yuan. The Shimmery Silver variant costs 2,899 yuan. These price points position the Huawei AI Glasses as a premium wearable but more affordable than some competing smart glasses from Western brands.

The built-in translation tool represents one of the most practical features for international travelers and business professionals. Users can speak into the glasses and receive real-time translation through the built-in speakers. The camera allows for hands-free photography and video recording from a first-person perspective. This capability appeals to content creators and adventure enthusiasts.

The Huawei AI Glasses run on HarmonyOS, Huawei’s proprietary operating system. The company developed this OS after U.S. sanctions prevented access to Google’s Android ecosystem. HarmonyOS now powers millions of devices across Huawei’s product lineup. The AI glasses represent an important expansion of that ecosystem into new form factors.

Huawei AI Glasses features

Competition in the smart glasses market has intensified in recent years. Meta has partnered with Ray-Ban on camera glasses. Amazon has developed Echo Frames with Alexa integration. Google has experimented with enterprise-focused smart glasses. Therefore, the Huawei AI Glasses enter a crowded but growing market. The company’s strengths include its vast distribution network and loyal customer base in China.

Early reviews of the AI Glasses have focused on comfort and battery life. The lightweight design addresses a common complaint about earlier smart glasses. The 12-hour battery life matches or exceeds most competitors. However, the camera quality and translation accuracy will determine long-term success. Huawei will likely release software updates to improve these features over time. The official sale on April 25 will provide the first real test of consumer demand.
