The Huawei Mate XT 2 is almost ready for launch. Huawei’s second-generation triple foldable has now cleared 5G certification. It appears under model number GRL-AL20 and includes new upgrades like a powerful Kirin 9020 chipset and Tiantong satellite communication support.

Huawei plans to unveil the phone by September 2025. This timing places the Huawei Mate XT 2 in direct competition with the iPhone 17 series and Samsung’s first triple-foldable phone. According to multiple tipsters, pre-launch testing is already underway.

The network database confirms 5G compatibility. Alongside that, the phone supports Tiantong satellite features. These functions keep users connected even in remote areas without mobile coverage. That makes the Mate XT 2 ideal for adventure, emergencies, or travelers.

Previously, the first Mate XT also supported satellite calling. Its antenna adjusted to changing environments to maintain strong signals. However, users had to fully unfold the phone for satellite functions to work. Now, Huawei may allow satellite calls even while folded, which adds convenience.

Several leaks suggest the phone runs on the Kirin 9020 5G processor. This chip made its debut with the Mate 70 series. It also powers the Pura 80 line. Built for speed, efficiency, and AI, it offers a smoother experience. If not the 9020, Huawei might choose the Kirin 9020s chip instead.

Camera upgrades also stand out. Reports say the Huawei Mate XT 2 will feature a 50MP main sensor with variable aperture. It may also include a periscope telephoto lens, which improves zoom and depth. These additions could turn the foldable into a photography powerhouse.

Huawei has not shared details about the battery or screen. Even so, sources expect significant improvements in both areas. More specifications will likely surface as the launch date approaches.

This foldable phone doesn’t just bring new hardware. It also signals Huawei’s growing strength in premium smartphones. The Huawei Mate XT 2 offers seamless connectivity, smart software, and premium design. Together, these features create a top-tier flagship experience.

The phone’s listing proves Huawei remains active in foldable tech and satellite innovation. By improving satellite access, boosting processing power, and refining usability, Huawei aims to lead in an ultra-competitive market.
