Huawei is gearing up to launch a large-screen tablet in China—the MatePad Pro 12.2 2025. Recently released globally, the device now targets local users with improved features and a powerful Kirin 9020A chip.
Tipster DigitalChatStation revealed key specifications. The tablet will include the Kirin T92A or Kirin 9020A chipset. It will also carry a dual rear camera setup (50MP + 8MP), an 8MP front camera, and a massive 10100mAh battery. In addition, the device will support Wi-Fi 7, satellite communication, and 100W fast charging.
Huawei aims for both performance and design. The tablet will be just 5.5mm thin and weigh around 508 grams. It will also include quad-speakers with high and low frequency drives and USB 3.1 Gen 1 support.
The display stands out with a 12.2-inch dual-layer OLED panel. It delivers 2.8K resolution, a 144Hz refresh rate, 3:2 screen ratio, and up to 2000 nits of peak brightness.
The Kirin 9020A chip, first used in the Mate 70 Pro Premium Edition, features 12 cores: 2 large (2.40GHz), 6 medium (2.00GHz), and 4 small (1.60GHz). Huawei used hyperthreading technology to boost performance. According to sources, it delivers 35% more power than the Mate 60 Pro, despite slightly lower clock speeds. The chipset works alongside the Maleoon 920 3cu GPU for enhanced graphics.
The Chinese variant is expected to share most specs with its global counterpart. However, it might include upgraded satellite features to improve communication in low-coverage areas. These changes could make it more useful in emergency or remote environments.
Huawei has not confirmed the launch date yet, but expectations are high. The MatePad Pro 12.2 2025 offers a blend of style, power, and practicality for users seeking a premium tablet experience.
