Huawei AI and 5G solutions dominated the spotlight at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025 in Shanghai. The Chinese tech leader shared its vision to expand globally, even as US-China tech tensions continue to grow. Notably, Huawei emphasized artificial intelligence and network infrastructure as the foundation of its strategy.

To open the event, Huawei’s Deputy Chairman Eric Xu Zhijun delivered a keynote address. He reflected on four decades of stable growth in the telecom sector. However, he argued that now is the time to embrace smarter, more productive technology solutions. Although the market has reached saturation in many areas, Huawei remains committed to delivering high-quality AI and 5G services to its users.

Xu introduced four strategic areas the industry must focus on. First, he stressed the need to attract new user groups, such as delivery workers and content creators. These users require strong, low-latency networks. Second, he highlighted the importance of scaling up the supply chain for high-definition video, which continues to grow in demand. Third, he discussed how smart connected vehicles rely on advanced 5G networks to function reliably. Lastly, he underlined the need to expand fibre-to-the-room (FTTR) systems to support digitalization for small businesses. Together, these areas offer clear opportunities for growth.

Clearly, Huawei AI and 5G solutions play a vital role in this transformation. Xu also emphasized that Huawei is ready to work with global telecom operators. According to him, each region has different business conditions and competitors. Therefore, Huawei aims to support carriers in achieving sustainable growth through tailored solutions.

At MWC 2025, Huawei also unveiled new technologies aimed at accelerating the global rollout of 5G-Advanced (5G-A). Among them was an ultra-broadband AI solution designed to provide seamless, end-to-end computing power. This innovation will help both homes and enterprises improve network performance. Furthermore, it will enable faster data processing and smarter service delivery across 5G environments.

Despite ongoing political challenges, Huawei continues to advance its global goals. While some Western markets remain closed off, the company finds strong demand in Asia, Africa, and parts of Europe. In these regions, the hunger for faster, smarter, and more reliable connectivity is still growing. Consequently, Huawei’s commitment to innovation remains firm.

Looking ahead, Huawei’s momentum will carry over into its next major event—HDC 2025. The company plans to launch a range of new tools for developers and users alike. Most likely, HarmonyOS 6.0 will be a key highlight. This release is expected to further solidify Huawei’s push toward building a robust ecosystem of interconnected devices and platforms.

It’s clear that Huawei AI and 5G solutions are more than products; they’re part of a much larger strategy. Huawei is betting on smart connectivity and integrated technologies to power the next digital era. Through bold investments and consistent innovation, the company aims to shape how the world connects.

As a result, Huawei’s presence at MWC 2025 was not just symbolic. It marked a renewed focus on global leadership in telecom and AI. Despite global uncertainties, Huawei is moving forward with purpose—faster, smarter, and stronger.
