Huawei’s Maextro S800 Challenges Rolls-Royce with Ultra-Luxury at a Lower Price
Huawei is setting new standards in the ultra-luxury car segment with its Maextro S800 sedan. Combining inspiration from Mercedes-Maybach and Rolls-Royce, the Maextro S800 offers premium features at a price that undercuts its high-end European rivals.
Luxury Cabin Inspired by the Best
Inside, the Maextro S800 boasts a floating digital display reminiscent of Mercedes’ MBUX Hyperscreen. The upscale cabin includes metal speaker grilles, door-mounted seat controls, dual wireless chargers, wood accents, and rich leather-suede upholstery. Rear passengers are pampered with power-adjustable seats, footrests, a center console with champagne holders, deployable tray tables, and a starlit headliner — all hallmark features of top-tier luxury cars.
Dimensions and Powertrain Options
The Maextro S800 stretches 215.7 inches in length, making it slightly longer than the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class, though it has a marginally shorter wheelbase. Buyers can choose between a full-electric variant equipped with a 94.4 kWh battery offering up to 436 miles (702 km) of range, or an extended-range version with a smaller 63.3 kWh battery delivering 160–193 miles (258–311 km) of electric-only range.
Competitive Pricing
Starting at approximately ¥1 million ($137,230), the Maextro S800 is significantly more affordable than the Mercedes-Maybach S480 in China, which starts at ¥1.48 million ($203,100).
A Serious New Player
With its combination of advanced tech, first-class comfort, and aggressive pricing, Huawei’s Maextro S800 is positioning itself as a serious rival to established names like Rolls-Royce and Maybach. The official launch is expected later this year.
